Question 1: Lou - What are NFL teams saying? Is there a specific team that is looking at you right now? When Can I see your clothing line?

Circulating through all of these tryouts, you do not receive a whole lot of feedback from the coaches besides their decision to sign you or not. However, it does not take a lot to read between the lines. You begin to truly understand the business side of the NFL and you either adapt or you don't survive. Most of the time, these teams simply do not have the roster space to take a chance on some rookie. Anyone could get a chance to compete for a spot over the summer if these teams had 100 roster spots, but it just is not the case. This year has been especially difficult for specialty positions (i.e. quarterbacks, kickers, etc.) as the state of the economy has forced the league to make universal roster cuts. With that said, any opportunities that arise for me will merely be the result of retiring incumbents or injuries. While it seems that I am going up against all odds, I am staying positive and keeping in shape in case that one door opens for me.
As for the clothing line, I am hoping to have the product out before the cold weather arrives. I am extremely excited to be putting my business and networking skills to use to provide a high quality product at a low cost for the best fans in the world. Down the line, I will be looking into a women's cut shirt, headbands, and more! 9/15/09
Over the years, I feel like my kicking career has been a vast array of trials and tribulations. Whether it was dealing with mechanics and technique or mentally preparing for a game, I have tried everything in the book. This has proven to be both a beneficial and detrimental approach to take towards refining one's game. I might not have given a particular set of mechanics or mental approach the appropriate amount of time to take effect. It did allow me to find the mixture that would best prepare for the game at hand, but I never had a set way of doing things that I could constantly rely on. Usually the most successful kickers have a set way of doing things, and they stick to that. The reason I tell you this is to show that every kicker is different. There is not one set way that provides a kicker with the optimal technique and a confident mindset. Also, underneath that calm and collected shell of a football player kicking and punting out on the field was a riptide of nerves and emotions. The key was simply to take the focus off of one's emotions. Practice turning it on and off during the week. My goal as a coach, with regard to mindset, is not necessarily to teach them anything, but figure out what makes them tick. When I can grasp what they think about during a kick, I can tweak here and there to get their focus going in the right direction. Every mind is a new frontier and a new challenge.
Question: Your Majesty, what was it that helped you to keep your cool all of those years? How are you teaching that to your players now? Brad A. 9/24/09
